A Writer’s Paradise
Get the most out of your Maui experience. Spend five intense, inspiring and rewarding days working under direction from the best of the best, including New York Times best-selling author William Berndhardt and acclaimed screenwriter Diane Lake. Workshops will be divided into private groups of ten, with focus on how to shape and present saleable manuscripts or screenplays in fiction, creative non fiction, screenplay or children’s literature. Attendance at the Conference is not a prerequisite for attending the Aloha Writers Conference Retreat.
Applicants should have a work in progress, but not necessarily completed, in order to attend most sessions. (Script writing with Diane Lake does not require a work in progress.) A writing sample is required for admittance to all workshops for The Retreat. Please email the first 15 pages of your manuscript to vickid43@yahoo.com. Be sure to have your name and email address as a header on each page submitted.
Please select your top three choices for workshop facilitator during registration, however your first choice is not guaranteed. In order to increase chances of receiving your first choice, early enrollment is highly recommended. Shortly after registration, our conference coordinator will contact you to ensure you receive the workshop of your choice. If all preferred workshops are no longer available your money will be promptly returned in full.
Can’t travel to Maui but want to benefit from this remarkable opportunity to improve your writing?
We will enroll no more than two “Skype” attendees in each session. Enrollees must have all Skype capability on their end. A dedicated surrogate will attend the using an iPad directed at the speakers and including you in all facets of the class. You will communicate with your workshop author by email, sending your homework and receiving input like any other participant. Skype participants will receive all the information and instruction presented. As a Skype participant, you will have the same access as those attending in person. Skype users will also count in the limited number enrolled for the class (no more than 10).
The cost to attend via Skype will be only slightly less than for those attending in person as they will participate in all aspects of The Retreat except for the Welcome Reception. Should you wish to Skype the workshops, please select the Skype section on the registration form.
